MLA SEMINAR SERIES - The Quality of Mercy

Last year’s series examined “The Value of Justice”; this year we turn our attention to justice’s frequent partner, complement, or antithesis: Mercy. Join us as we consider the concept and practice of mercy from several disciplinary directions, including politics, medicine, religious studies, and literature. Lifelong Learning Institute
The Lifelong Learning Institute at Washington University consists of a variety of courses, or study groups, based on cooperative learning and member involvement. Knowledgeable members plan, develop and present the courses, related field trips and workshops. When you enroll in a course, you become a member of LLI and will receive the course listing and newsletter. The Lifelong Learning Institute has three regular 8-week terms -- Fall, Winter, and Spring -- and a 4-week Summer session. Each study group meets once a week for two hours at Washington University's West Campus during the eight-week term. Adults 55 years and older are invited to participate in the Lifelong Learning Institute of Washington University. The Fall 2011 Term is September 26—November 18. The Winter 2012 term is January 9--March 5. The Spring 2011 term is April 2--May 25. The Summer 2012 term is July 9--August 3. Refunds
A full refund is granted if a course is canceled, or if notice of withdrawal is received prior to the beginning date of a course. Refunds are not granted on short courses after the first class meeting. To receive a refund, please submit a signed request in person or by mail. Washington University tuition remission benefits are not applicable to noncredit courses.
