What's a Certificate?
- A Certificate is an accepted credential that verifies competence and skill acquisition in a particular area of study.
- A Certificate program helps you enhance or update professional skills.
- A Certificate insures quality education and skill acquisition in a relatively short time period.
- A Certificate adds value to the degree you are working on, or the degree you already hold.
- A Certificate at University College may be earned with 12, 15, 18, 24, or 30 credit units, depending on your chosen Certificate program.
Academic Program Requirements and Changes
University College reserves the right to change policies and program requirements, and will post changes on the University College Web site. Students are required to satisfy all degree, major, and other program requirements as published in the Bulletin and on the University College Web site at the date of admission to a University College program of study, with a 10-year statute of limitations. If any changes are made to degree, major, and other program requirements, and noted on the University College Web site, students may retain the requirements associate with the original program or, with University College authorization, they may make appropriate changes to their original program of study in order to adapt to newer requirements.
If a student has been away from University College for 10 or more years and the original degree or major is no longer offered, the student must select a new, currently offered major and program of study. If a student has been away from University College for 10 or more years and the original degree or major is currently offered but has changed, University College will first review the requirements associated with the original program and, in consultation with the student and relevant academic departments, select degree and major requirements, including appropriate course substitutions from either the original or current program.
