Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology
The major in Industrial and Organizational Psychology is designed for students planning to work in the fields of general management, human resources/personnel, and organizational behavior. The course work focuses on the behavioral aspects of managing and supervising the human resources of an organization or industry.
The University College programs in psychology are allied with the Department of Psychology in Arts and Sciences at Washington University. Courses are normally scheduled one evening a week for two and a half hours. Most courses are three units.

The Minor in Industrial and Organizational Psychology
The minor in industrial and organizational psychology (18 credit units) introduces students to the basic concepts of organizational psychology. Students must take the following courses:

- Introduction to Industrial and Organizational Psychology (U09-214)
- Psychological Statistics (U09-300).
- Social Psychology (U09-315) or Personality (U09-353)
- Tests and Measurements (U09-404) or Applied Psychology of Learning (U09-468).
Students electing to major in Psychology and also complete this special minor must complete a total of 39 units in psychology instead of the usual 27 units. They must choose courses for the Psychology major which are distinct from those required for the Industrial and Organizational Psychology minor, with the exception of Introduction to Psychology and Introductory Psychological Statistics. Students doing an industrial and organizational psychology minor are strongly encouraged to include basic economics courses among their social science electives.
